(1) Material
Virgin wood pulp: soft, tough, suitable for daily use (recommended brands: Vinda, Qingfeng).
Recycled paper pulp: environmentally friendly but rough, may contain fluorescent agents (need to check safety certification).
Bamboo pulp paper: naturally antibacterial, suitable for sensitive skin (such as Banbu).
(2) Number of layers and thickness
1 layer: thinner, suitable for low-budget use.
2 layers: balance softness and economy (most common).
3 layers and above: thicker, strong water absorption (such as Debao Tempo).
(3) Safety certification
FDA food grade (suitable for wiping mouth)
EU ECOLabel (environmentally friendly and non-toxic)
No fluorescent agent, no fragrance (preferred for sensitive people)
(4) Water absorption & toughness
High-quality toilet paper is not easy to break when exposed to water and will not fall off when wiped.
A simple test can be done: gently pull it after soaking it in water to see if it is easy to break.
